The State Technical Training Center (CFT) of the Aysén Region has assumed the responsibility of guaranteeing the continuity of studies of the students of the Professional Institute and Technical Training Center (IP-CFT) Los Lagos, after its administrative closure. This important step has been possible thanks to a collaboration agreement signed between the Ministry of Education, the Closing Administrations and the State CFT, together with the participation of several key actors in the territory and the country.
The transition has been received with great appreciation by the students of these study houses. Milena Argel, a technical student in Early Childhood Education and the First Cycle of Basic General Education, expressed her relief saying: “I am very grateful to the State CFT because they were the only ones who extended their hand to us to be able to continue with our studies, it was very sad. “What happened with the previous administration, but I had hope that this would be solved”
Kiamara Bastías, who is studying a Higher Level Technician in Differential Education, added: “excited about the beginning of the semester that seemed very far away, but to thank the State CFT that assumed this gigantic risk that other houses did not want to assume, totally excited” .
For her part, Karen Ayancán, a student of Engineering in Public Administration, highlighted: “it has been a very emotional week for all the students because we are realizing that this is real, we are very anxious to be able to resume classes again and to be able to finishing our careers, which is the fundamental thing.”
The Head of Career, Mrs. Gypsy Durán, commented on the integration process: “my analysis is tremendously positive, here there was a need to cover, there were students who had been left without the possibility of achieving the dream for which they came to the CFT and IP Los Lagos and this opportunity I feel will help them get out of the cycle of poverty.”
Finally, the Rector of the State CFT of the Aysén Region, Mr. Víctor Hugo Álvarez concluded: “we are starting the academic year, this was an agreement that was signed with the Ministry of Education, the Undersecretary of Higher Education, the closing administrators and the State CFT, we are complying with this agreement, We thank all the authorities who were involved so that this could happen today.”
With this joint effort, the State CFT of the Aysén Region reaffirms its commitment to education, the territory and the development of students, providing an effective and responsible solution to the closure of the IP-CFT Los Lagos.
