The Government Peace Delegation asked its counterpart from the National Liberation Army (ELN) to stop attacking President Gustavo Petro on social networks.
The statement was addressed especially to Eliécer Herlinto Chamorro, alias “Antonio Garcíawho would have made accusations regarding a possible breach of the established agreement.

In the document they indicated that “we have maintained this commitment and the ceasefire, despite the announcements of ‘freezing’ of the ELN. “We have fulfilled all commitments that include proposing solutions to the crisis.”
“García” had trilled this Monday, which became a habit on the part of the Government “dodge agreements or breach them by giving them biased interpretations through media manipulation (sic)”.
He also wrote in another tweet that “just like war for traffickers, also peace, When it is not true, it is a good business for characters who take advantage of it to get rich (sic).”
In response, the government delegation explained that “they have patiently remained silent” for “not continue in the logic of media confrontation.”

“It does not justify the strategy of aggression against the President of the Republic and members of the Government’s peace team, nor unfounded claims of non-compliance. Using external claims to settle internal contradictions does not contribute to the peace process,” the statement reads.
