Tucumán and Catamarca articulate actions to strengthen the Bioceanic Corridor

The Secretariat of International and Business Relations (SERIE), represented by Lic. Virginia Avilacarried out a strategic mission in Catamarca where the head of the SERIE was received by the governor of Catamarca, Raul Jaliland the lieutenant governor Ruben Dusso. They spoke about the productive projects that they are facing in the province of Catamarca and that are relevant for regional integration. The objective of this meeting was to strengthen the strategic and joint work as the Tucumán – Catamarca region, based on the railway project that converts the San Francisco Pass as a Bioceanic Corridor and what was established by the ATACALAR Integration Committee.

They participated in the meeting, Sebastian Budeguerin his role as vice president of the EEOAC, president of the Tucumán Foundation and owner of one of the largest agro-export groups in the NOA; Alberto Nunez, director of the Tucumán Foundation and Virginia Ávila representing the SERIE. This meeting took place within the framework of the actions of the ATACALAR integration committee, where the governor Osvaldo Jaldo and the Ministry of Government and Justice, Regino Amado, through SERIE, seek to strengthen the public-private articulation of the province with Catamarca. Regarding these actions, Secretary Virginia Ávila commented: “one of the central axes is the promotion of the San Francisco Pass, as an exit route to Chile and the Pacific for Tucumán productions.”

On the other hand, the secretary met with the Minister of Education of Catamarca, Dalmacio Mera, to talk about German dual education and the importance of training young people with direct job opportunities. “The minister told us about how Catamarca promotes the Knowledge Economy through the creation of the Scientific, Technological and Productive Center of Catamarca,” said Ávila.

Then the head of the SERIE held a meeting with the Minister of Production, Juan Cruz Mirandaand the director of Lands and Agricultural Units, Juan Manuel Romeroto discuss the productive expansion of the province and the interaction with the private sector of Tucumán.

Finally, the secretary was received by Veronica Soria, Minister of Labor, Planning and Human Resources, who invited Tucumán to participate in the international agenda with Japan and France in Catamarca. Ávila explained: “during the meeting, emphasis was placed on the importance of Tucumán as a provider of metal-mechanical services for Catamarca mining.”
