Neighbors of Villa Los Galpones, an urban settlement located between the San Martín and Alta Córdoba neighborhoods, broke the train brakes this Monday afternoon and looted soybeans from 14 cars.

The incident occurred around 2:15 p.m. at the intersection of Paso de Los Andes and Coronel Olmedo streets at 1900 and involved a train formation that was heading towards the Alta Córdoba station, as reported to Chain 3 by Inspector Commissioner Julio Moyano.

“A group of young people disconnected the air hose and that activated the emergency brakes, which caused the formations to stop. Then, they removed the seals from the cars, opened the hoppers and made the soybeans they contained fall out,” Moyano described.

“The train has 28 cars and it is estimated that the hoppers were opened in 14 of them. The authorities there assured that, once the cereal hits the ground, it is no longer useful and, therefore, they allow people to take it out, because it no longer has value,” he added.

Finally, the uniformed officer specified that at the moment there are no arrests.
