The Provincial Council of Córdoba is looking for the best young musical performer

The Culture Delegation of the Provincial Council of Córdoba launched with the aim of promoting and rewarding artistic excellence, specifically in the musical field, the I Contest of Young Performers of the Province, aimed at students of Professional Music Degree.

The person in charge of the Area, Gabriel Duque, explained that “the contest is aimed at Professional Music Conservatories of the province and with it we seek to promote excellence and the development of skills among its students.

“Music has many young people dedicated to it in the province, that is why the Delegation wanted to organize a contest to give visibility to these students and promote their careers when they are young, before reaching Higher Education,” said Duque.

For his part, the contest coordinator and director of the Rafael Orozco Superior Conservatory of Music of Córdoba, Manuel Ureñahas expressed his gratitude for the organization of the contest and has stressed that “hard work is done in classes that often does not go out into the streets, which is why these awards are extraordinary so that students and teachers have a goal throughout the year.” year and a project in sight.

Conditions

The Provincial Council has reported in a press release that “any student of the Professional Music degree, without age limit, enrolled in any of the Professional Music Conservatories of the province, the CPM Marcos Redondo of Pozoblanco, the CPM Chicano Maestro Muñoz from Lucena and CMP Musician Ziryab from Córdoba.

The jury will award two prizes in each category, a first prize for soloist and a first prize for chamber music. For first and second year students the prizes will be 1,000 and 2,000 euros (soloist and chamber), for third and fourth years 2,000 and 4,000 euros and for fifth and sixth the prizes will be 3,000 and 6,000 euros respectively.

There will be a candidate selection phase, which will be based on the evaluation of the video submitted to the competition with the registration application, and a final phase, which will be held in November at the Rafael Orozco Superior Conservatory of Music in Córdoba.

The total budget of the awards amounts to 18,000 euros and the deadline for submitting applications will be four months, ending on October 6. All the information is available at cultura.dipucordoba.es and in the Official Gazette of the Province of Córdoba (BOP) from June 5.
