The party for La Rioja Day ended, The celebration for the patron continues in Logroño, it’s International Play Day. The United Nations celebrates it for the first time on June 11, 2024 to make visible the right to play for the little ones, as well as their participation in cultural life and the arts for the first time.
Here, the children and the adults, the family follows the tradition and from the first thing in the morning they prepare the distribution of the fish, the bread and the wine next to Ravellín Cube that celebrates its V Centenary this year, where yesterday afternoon the floral offering and the historical evocation were repeated by the mayor, Conrado Escobar, in charge of giving the flag at the old gates of the city, under the Arch of San Barnabas, in Cuatro Cantones and at the Puerta de Carlos V.
The procession that left the La Redonda co-cathedral concludes on the walls of Revellín after the mass attended by the municipal corporation called the Council at the Town Hall. The images of San Bernabé, patron saint of Logroño, and the Virgin of Hope, patron saint and mayor of the city, tour the heart of the Rioja capital with three notable stops for the mayor of the traditional flags: for mothers, for commerce and for the Very Noble and Very Loyal City of Logroño.
