Herpes zoster (HZ) is a very prevalent disease, with a higher incidence after the age of 50 and in women, increasing with age and, considerably, with the presence of certain risk conditions. It has a low mortality, but an increase in incidence is expected due to the aging of the population and the increasing number of people with comorbidities (when two or more disorders or diseases occur in the same person, at the same time or one after the other). and immunosuppression.

The objective of the contract, budgeted at 875,420 euros, is the acquisition of more than 7,000 doses to ensure the protection of the target population until December 31 of this year. Spanish Medicines and Health Products. This vaccine is the only one that can be administered to immunocompromised people, the main risk group for shingles.

The contract, which is being called divided into 4 lots and will be awarded through an open procedure, includes the transfer and installation of the equipment necessary to manage the samples, as well as to obtain the results in the most automated way possible.

The contract will be executed between September 1 and December 31, 2027. It is extendable for periods equal to or less than 12 months up to a maximum total of 60 consecutive months. Its financing is broken down into the following annual payments:
