The Directorate of Labor Inspection (DIL) granted the request of the Chacarera commune and issued the mandatory conciliation to the municipal teachers of Valle Viejo who had started a strike this morning. Measure that was suspended after the DIL announcement.
The teachers of the municipal Education System claim “the lack of response” to their demands for salary increases and the uncertainty surrounding the transfer of municipal schools to provincial jurisdiction. The force measure was going to include attendance at workplaces, but without attention to students and with the holding of permanent assemblies. In addition, mobilizations towards the Chacarero municipality were not ruled out.
Guillamondegui explained that, “despite the successive complaints and the lack of responses after exhausting the opportunities for dialogue with the Ministry of Finance, Education and Culture, a strike has been ordered with permanent assemblies in schools, without attention to the students for 72 hours starting on Wednesday the 12th, Thursday the 13th and Friday the 14th of June, a measure that was interrupted by the Conciliation established in the morning hours today.
The first conciliation hearing was set for Wednesday the 19th in the morning in the Cape.
