Mindeporte and Civic Committee will lead “Plan Chocó Potencia Deportiva”

Bogotá, June 13, 2024. The Ministry of Sports and the Civic Committee of Chocó held, this Wednesday, a productive meeting to establish work tables and join forces that will allow the development of actions that benefit and strengthen sports in this department of the Colombian Pacific .

Technical meetings will be held to launch the ??Plan Chocó Potencia Deportiva??, which seeks to make the points discussed in the joint session between Mindeporte and the Civic Committee a reality.

Bogotá, June 13, 2024. The Ministry of Sports and the Civic Committee of Chocó held, this Wednesday, a productive meeting to establish work tables and join forces that will allow the development of actions that benefit and strengthen sports in this department of the Colombian Pacific .

During the session, the initial phase of a shock plan was structured that will be valid in 2024 and 2025, and will focus on sports infrastructure, sports promotion and positioning of Chocó in the sports field, seeking to project the talent of the region. Additionally, support will be provided to sports leagues to improve their management and development.

“We receive with great satisfaction that the Minister of Sports and the Vice Minister of Sports are the ones who lead this shock plan, are in charge of directing it and monitoring it, so that an excellent execution of it is achieved,” said Felipe Blandón, advisor to the Committee. Civic of Chocó.

After the meeting, the Minister of Sports, Luz Cristina López Trejos, referred to the common points found. “We, as a ministry, come not only to leverage the commitments that as the National Government we have issued with this community, but fundamentally to review how from the strategies of sport, recreation, physical activity and use of free time we can accompany the Chocó community” .

Next week a working group will be held in the territory to define the specific topics of this shock plan. On Friday, June 21 and Saturday, June 22, technical meetings will be held to launch the “Chocó Sports Power Plan”, which seeks to make the points discussed in the joint session between Mindeporte and the Civic Committee a reality.

There will be two important meetings “in relation to the direct articulation in the territory of laws and actions, as well as establishing technical tables for the launch of the “Chocó Sports Power Plan”, which is a commitment to strengthening the processes sports in the department of Chocó,” said Robert Rivas Becerra, spokesperson for the sports table of the Civic Committee, after finishing the meeting.

“We feel very welcomed, very grateful to the minister and her work team for the way in which they have assumed these commitments to strengthen actions in the territory,” he said.
