International Poetry Bridges Festival begins in Matanzas

The zero edition of Poetic Bridges International Poetry Festival It began with a cultural gala at the SJosé White Concert Wing from the city of Matanzas. On this occasion the event dedicates its days to the people of Palestine and the Cuban poet Nancy Morejon.

The National Literature Prize winner also expressed that Cuban poetry is experiencing its best moment, marked by the presence of diverse generations that converge and unite their voices.

“I have no words to express my gratitude to all the poets of this city. “This is a poetic city, and I think it should highlight the high level of the poets who are present.”

The Council of Waters brought together renowned poets from Matanzas who welcomed foreign attendees and those from other provinces.

The gala featured various musical moments by the renowned singer and founder of Las Anacaonas, Annerys Cánovas, the Nuestra América group, the Cmerata José White, among others.

The International Poetry Bridges Festival 2024 will spread the magic of poetry throughout the city of Matanzas until next Saturday, June 15. (LLOLL)
