Through the decree – which is known while the basic law is voted on – the president gives control to the province of Entre Ríos over the 3 positions on the board of the Mixed Technical Commission of Salto Grande.
Milei then agreed for the Entre Ríos governor to share the positions with the senator, who is an opponent in the province but played in tandem to facilitate the approval of the law.
Frigerio would keep the president of the Salto Grande commission, who was appointed four months ago, and the other two directorates that exist would go to Kueider.
The decree – which is not yet published in the official gazette and therefore is not in force – says, in its operative part, that it replaces Decree No. 132 of February 2, 2004, which will be worded as follows: “ARTICLE 2.- The NATIONAL EXECUTIVE POWER, for the purposes of the provisions of the preceding article, will designate, at the proposal of the Province of ENTRE RÍOS, the THREE (3) members of the Argentine Delegation before the JOINT TECHNICAL COMMISSION OF SALTO GRANDE indicating Likewise, who will be the President of the Delegation.”
In addition, they clarify that the measure will come into force from the day of its publication in the Official Gazette.
The provinces of Neuquén, Rio Negro, and Chubut requested the same for the dams in the south, while Misiones and Corrientes did not achieve the same for Yaciretá. These provinces, which hold the key to the approval of the law this Wednesday, now ask for the same treatment before voting.
