The president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, and the first lady, Verónica Alcocer, arrived in Stockholm (Sweden) last Wednesday, June 12, within the framework of the 150 years of diplomatic relations between Colombia and said country.

During his visit, Alcocer García held meetings with representatives of the Ancla Foundation, the Grupo Colombia organization and the Swedish Human Rights Foundation, with the aim of establishing cooperation alliances in social areas. fundamental for Colombia.

During the meeting, the first lady presented the social initiatives that she leads, highlighting the efforts to improve access to drinking water in La Guajira, the training programs for women deprived of liberty and post-penalties, and the comprehensive well-being of children, adolescents and older adults.

At the meeting it was announced that in October of this year, members of the Ancla Foundation, led by its founder Börje Erdtman and the president Anders Hagstromthey will visit Colombia.

This visit has as objective to join initiatives that: improve access to drinking water for vulnerable communities, training programs for people deprived of liberty and post-prisoners, and strengthening the educational infrastructure in the country.

Alcocer, thanked the participating organizations for their commitment to creating these alliances and reiterated the importance of these meetings. to advance projects that contribute to national reconciliation, strengthening “social cohesion and promoting a culture of peace in Colombia.”
