These are the sectors affected by low pressure and water cuts in La Serena

During the afternoon of this Saturday, the zonal deputy manager of Aguas del Valle, Alejandro Salazar, reported that due to the significant increase in turbidity in the Elqui River, the productive capacity of the water utility has been affected, causing low pressures and supply outages. in some parts of the commune of La Serena.

Among the affected sectors are Castro, General Novoa, Panorámica, Colo Colo, Juan Pablo I, Arauco, Los Jazmines, Pasaje Lingues and 18 de Septiembre.

“The intense rainfall caused a great increase in turbidity in the Elqui River, which led us to use the reserve waters of the Las Rojas dam, but the reduced production and high consumption of the post-rain population has forced us to carry out a supply cut in some sectors of La Serena,” said Salazar.

The executive mentioned that Aguas del Valle is carrying out various operational maneuvers and that the service is expected to gradually begin to normalize during tonight.

“To support affected customers, we have provided 12 tank trucks that will be touring the affected areas,” he added.
