The third edition of the Dreams in Construction Race arrives in Cundinamarca

The Parque Jaime Duque Foundation and the Proyecto Unión Foundation announce the third edition of the ‘Dreams in Construction’ Race, which will take place on Sunday August 11a sporting, recreational and solidarity event that will bring together 3,000 runners with their families and aims to raise funds to continue with the construction of the Home Amparo Quinlocated in Tocancipá and which aims to provide well-being and preserve the lives of the most vulnerable children in our country.

The participation of each person will help the culmination of a dream, the ‘Home Amparo Quin’which is currently being built at the headquarters of the Life Center of Tocancipá, Cundinamarcato comprehensively care for more than a hundred children.

Since 2002 the two foundations They joined their efforts aimed at the objective of preserving the family and social well-being to provide comprehensive care in a timely and quality manner to more 2700 boys, girls and adolescents in conditions of cognitive and mental disabilities, orphan diseases and cancer, the vast majority of whom could not be cared for by their families.

On the other hand, this great alliance has achieved a social impact on 2,350 low-income families, from remote regions, with children facing cancer and complex illnesses so that they can be welcomed in a home away from home, providing them with shelter, food and support what do you require. The mission of restoring hope to the most vulnerable populations extends to the elderly population who, for more than 25 years, 1,300 homeless grandparents, receive their daily food and a decent roof to spend the night.

He Home Amparo Quina social innovation project, unique in the country, began in 2018 and thanks to the contribution of great allies and donors who have joined this great dream, we have achieved a 48% progress. In the first version of the race in 2022, the contribution and support was $70 million that was used to purchase materials and advance the construction of the first two stages; In the race held in 2023, 108 million were raised, which made the cover corresponding to the fourth stage a reality.

Thanks to this important advance, in 2024 the first three completed stages were opened, allowing 50 children find in the Amparo Quin Home a safe space and a family environment, with spacious rooms, surrounded by love, nature and the permanent comprehensive care they require to live, allowing no child to be alone. Little by little, this dream is advancing, but there is still a long way to go. The funds from the third version of the Dreams Under Construction race will be used to invest in the 4th phase and thus advance in the 4 remaining stages with a value of $2.5 billion.

It is expected that, on this occasion, runners of all ages, families and organizations will come together to run for a purpose, leave a mark on a child’s life disabled and on race day put a brick in the home with their own hands and make this great dream come true, which has become a symbol of solidarity and social commitment.

The third edition of the Career Dreams in Construction It will have various categories for participants of all ages and levels of physical condition, from children to adults. There will be 3k, 5K and 10K race options. The routes are designed to cover a large part of the recreational, cultural and environmental area of ​​the Parque Jaime Duque Foundation and the finish line is located in the heart of the Home Amparo Quin where the runners will be accompanied by the beneficiary children who currently live in the Home and will be able to enjoy different activities.
