Loan Danilo Peña is 5 years old

Three days after the disappearance of the 5-year-old boy in Currents, the search continues and they focus the operation in the vicinity of the place where he was last seen. “We think it’s in the area“, assured the provincial Minister of Security about the whereabouts of Loan Danilo Peña. Meanwhile, the Sofia Alert remains active.

Loan was last seen last Thursday. After having lunch at his grandmother’s house, he went out to pick oranges with three other minors and three adults, but he never returned. The boy’s mother said that the group went about 2 kilometers from his grandmother’s house and, when they noticed his absence, they searched for him for about two hours before notifying the police.

Since his disappearance, an operation was launched that involves dogs, drones, firefighters and 200 police officers, who are searching the area. In this regard, the provincial Minister of Security, Buenaventura Duarteprovided details of the procedures after meeting with the local police chief, Armando Molina.

Duarte assured that they believe that the child “is in the area,” so the epicenter of the operation is the National Route 123in the vicinity of July 9thdistrict in which Loan disappeared, according to the information that the local media was able to access Época Newspaper.

“We are doing a strong job,” the official highlighted during a brief communication with the press. In this context, several searches were carried out in the homes near the place on Friday. However, the only thing that could be found so far was a pair of muddy sneakers that would be the ones the boy was wearing at the time of his disappearance. The discovery occurred about 3 kilometers from his grandmother’s home.

Loan had lunch at his grandmother’s house just before he disappeared

In turn, the authorities ordered the preventive delay of the three adults who accompanied him. Regarding the people, Duarte assured that “they were all at a lunch for the Saint Anthony’s Day”. Although his identity is unknown, it was learned that they are close to the family and that the boy had received permission from his father to go get oranges with them.

In a conversation with Radio Dos, the boy’s mother said that these people “say that he grabbed a peeled orange and said: ‘I’m going with my dad.'” For the woman, “the baby could have gone to the side of the road, or someone found him and took him, because there is nothing else.”

Given this scenario, the Ministry of National Security issued a Sofia Alert to find his whereabouts. “Loan is a child with a dark complexion, thin, with brown eyes and short dark brown hair,” they reported and added: “At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a black T-shirt with pink letters that said ‘Messi’, long black pants and green sneakers. The minor measures approximately 80 centimeters and has a scar located in the crown of his head.”

For his part, Mariano, the boy’s brother, indicated that they are not ruling out anything but they maintain hope that Loan is in good health. “We rule out nothing, but I believe he is healthy and safe. “My little brother is very strong,” he said and stated: “Everything is very strange. Loan was very lively, he was not going to give up easily, he talks a lot. There is something strange here.”

“We will see where the dogs guide us to find it. It will be all right. Yes or if we have to have some news during today,” he expressed about the search operation in a dialogue with Sudamericana.
