Resolution 90-2024 of the National Energy Secretariat, which modifies the scale of energy subsidies, determines that users categorized as N2-Lower Income who did not complete the RASE form (Registration of Access to Energy Subsidies) Energy), they have 60 consecutive days, that is, until the first days of August, to register, otherwise they will lose the benefit. This is equivalent to expressing that they will pay for all their electricity consumption with the most expensive rate.

Specifically, in the case of Catamarca, it points to 35,000 EC SAPEM users, categorized N2 – Lower income, who had been included as beneficiaries in 2022 for meeting the pre-established conditions of income levels, but who did not complete the RASE (Registry of Access to the Energy Subsidy), mainly because they lived in inhospitable places, with difficulties in accessing the Internet, or because they were elderly people, who were not supposed to use the Internet.

Regarding the policy of partial removal of subsidies from the national government, now it is the users who did not complete the RASE who are targeted by Resolution 90/2024. Users who are categorized as N2-Lower Income and who do not have registration in the RASE will have a period of 60 calendar days to register and not lose the subsidy of up to 350 kWh/month.

This week, EC SAPEM will begin an information and re-registration campaign throughout the provincial territory.

Subsidies

The National Energy Secretariat set new consumption limits to maintain electricity subsidies. These will govern during the so-called “Transition” period between June 1 and November 30, 2024.

– Users categorized in Level 2 (Low Income), have a subsidized price up to a base consumption of 350 kWh/month. If consumption remains within this limit, the bonus and/or subsidy is 71.92% of the defined price. If this limit is exceeded, the surplus consumed is paid at full rate.

– Users categorized in Level 3 (Middle Income), have a subsidized price up to a base consumption of 250 kWh/month. If consumption remains within this limit, the bonus and/or subsidy is 55.94% of the defined price. If this limit is exceeded, the surplus consumed is paid at full rate.

– Users categorized in Level 1 (High Income) do not have a bonus.
