Santa Fe’s victory against Bucaramanga in the 90 minutes, which later ended with the Leopardos celebrating from the penalty spot, also defined the new winner of the Golden Boot: it is Carlos Bacca, who won the fight against Hugo Rodallega.
The stainless Bacca finished the Apertura with 12 goals, a mark he achieved between home runs and ‘all against all’.
Carlos Arturo was on the verge of a possible final and a hypothetical two-time championship, but in the end it was Bucaramanga who won that even group.
Bacca’s 12 scores were enough to win the Golden Boot for the second consecutive tournament. He had also achieved it in Finalization 2023, when he was crowned champion with Junior against DIM. In that tournament, Bacca scored 18 goals.
The one who was behind him was Hugo Rodallega, who also scored 12 but, according to Dimayor’s regulations, the title belonged to Bacca.
Why did Bacca win the Golden Boot if he tied in goals with Rodallega?
According to Dimayor, Bacca is deserving of the distinction because he played fewer games than Rodallega, the first tiebreaker item. Bacca played 22 and Rodallega 26.
This is Bacca’s fourth Golden Bootwho had also won it in 2010-I, 2011-II, 2023-II.
