My return to Villa de Leyva – Alonso Ojeda Awad #DomingosDeCuentoYPoesía

Thanks to the kind invitation of my friends Antonio Rojas. Amparito Garzón de Rojas and Francesco Ambrocci, I returned to my wife again, to receive the solidarity and affection of the loved ones who live there.

Villa de Leyva is a town that bewitches its visitors with that legendary magic that seems to be present in every stone of its streets, in every door of its old houses and in the air that is breathed at night, with a firmament full of stars. that shine in the immensity of the sky, reminding us of Diego Fallón’s poem: “broad constellations that shine so far away, looking towards the earth from the height, why are your gazes of pale reflections so full of sadness, so full of sweetness ?.

I returned to present my most recent book “nation project” which is my approach to the serious crisis of principles and values that grip our anguished society. The national project that was born after the enormous “war of independence” led by the genius of the country Simón Bolívar, was betrayed with impunity, when his second generals claimed the supreme good of the land for their personal use and deeded it exclusively to their descendants, creating this odious figure of latifundium or landownership, which plunged our nation into secular poverty and violence that has been impossible to overcome.

Alongside this injustice, the poor of the earth, such as the ancestral indigenous communities, the immense Afro-descendant population were totally relegated from the treatment that corresponded as citizens of this good land, which had seen them born since time immemorial and which were the ideals social and political of the liberator.

At the presentation of the book held at the “Relato” bookstore, the cultural center of our great friend Hernando, who welcomed us with that immense solidarity and affection that only a good man, like him, knows how to give.

The event was gratifying and had excellent attendance from professionals, educators, cultural and agricultural workers, and union leaders, allowing for a broad and fraternal discussion on how to overcome our serious cultural and social shortcomings and strengthen the pedagogy that will make possible the structuring of girls and boys, capable of interpreting and resolving, in the immediate future, the new and urgent national project, which our society is crying out for, to leave behind and forever the violence, the armed struggle, the corruption that It eats away at our ethical foundations.

We must together work on the political consolidation of an immense block of women and men, citizens to win, sooner rather than later, peace, deep respect for human rights and international humanitarian law (human rights and international humanitarian law). , as the basis of the new nation.

We returned to Bogotá deeply moved by the excellent human quality of the attendees who accompanied us, confirming returning for the presentation of the new book that is already knocking on the doors of the printing press.

Thank you so much.
