The Buenos Aires singer-songwriter will perform the second live launch of her first album at the renovated Municipal Theater of Ciudad Jardín, accompanied by the female block of the new popular music of Valparaíso.
This Wednesday, June 19, at 7:00 p.m., the renovated Municipal Theater of Viña del Mar will be the scene of an unmissable gala night, where the outstanding Buenos Aires singer-songwriter Melissa Johnson and her band Chagual will present live for the second time the album “Living seriously”.
The event, which promises to be an emotional journey through music and poetry, will have the special participation of the “female block” of the new waltz, the new bolero and the new Buenos Aires popular music.
This block is made up of Yasna Arancibia, Kathy Lúa and the Trío Licarayén. In addition, Lou Montenegro’s poetic intervention will add a literary and emotional dimension. On the other hand, the day will feature a presentation by Denisse Cabrera, a member of the Popular Music Ensemble of the Conservatory of Music of the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso (PUCV).

I consider it to be one of the most important stages in the Fifth Region and it is a happiness to be able to deliver this work, which is done with so much effort and with so much love; in such decent conditions”.
In this way, the work of creative women is made known who are leaving a significant mark and refreshing the repertoire of the artistic circuit of Valparaíso, not only with new life stories and realities, but also experimenting with modern urban sounds.
In that sense, the author of the eight songs that make up the album highlights “the importance and value that we must give to the work of us, women in music in my case, because men have been occupying these spaces for many years. It is time to show with equal opportunity the work that we can do, that is of high quality, that has compositions with a new look, relating new realities of life that are not the same as those of our grandmothers and that, therefore, can touch the emotional fiber of many other women who have also grown up listening to boleros and waltzes”.
“Living seriously,” Melissa Johnson’s first album, promises to take the public on an emotional journey through its deep lyrics and carefully crafted instrumental arrangements. Together with the outstanding musicians of Chagual, he will offer a presentation that highlights the influence of foreign musical genres processed and reinterpreted with their own and authentic identity.
