Paranaenses and tourists rediscover the city’s historical heritage

This Saturday there was a tour of the historic center through emblematic buildings of the city. In the Municipal Palace there was a representation of the confrontation between Urquiza and López Jordán. Mediators from the City Museum and tourist guides participated.

The agenda to celebrate the 211th anniversary of the Entre Ríos capital is presented under the slogan “Paraná, City of Stories.” Based on this motto, one of the activities was designed to contribute to the knowledge of the history and rich heritage of the city that was the Capital of the Argentine Confederation.

“We invite neighbors to visit the different places; Paraná is a city with a lot of history. We toured Plaza 1° de Mayo and its historical-cultural surroundings. The tours end in emblematic places such as the 3 de Febrero Municipal Theater, the North Chapel of San Miguel and the City Museum,” explained tourist guide Carina Caminos, representing the Undersecretariat of Tourism.

A proposal that gains followers

Manuela Bracco, a resident of Paraná, considered that the tour “is very good, because not all Paraná residents out there know the history of the city.”

Marcelo González, a resident of Concepción del Uruguay, pointed out that “there are many things that one does not know, such as the history of the Post Office. “These are questions that enrich one.”

The historical tours for the general public will be from Saturday the 15th to Monday the 17th, and from Thursday the 20th to Sunday the 23rd at 11am and 3pm. In turn, a special event will be held for the city’s anniversary on Tuesday, June 25th at 11.

The tours begin at Plaza 1° de Mayo and include the Municipal Palace, Municipal Theater 3 de Febrero, City Museum and the North Chapel. Access is free and open.

In addition, tours will be provided to city schools on Tuesday the 18th and Wednesday the 19th, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
