Frigerio: “We face a process of austerity in the management of public accounts”

The attention to the emergency, the organization of public accounts, the initiatives regarding modernization and transparency, and the restart of public works were the main points highlighted by Governor Rogelio Frigerio in relation to his first six months in office.

During the work day he had with the mayor of Concordia, Francisco Azcué, and his cabinet, the president emphasized the difficult context in which he has to lead the province: “Clearly we are going through the worst crisis of these 40 years of democracy “The social and economic indicators specify it,” he stressed.

He mentioned “the disorder and complexity in which the province found itself at a fiscal and financial level, which forced the authorities to carry out intense work of organization”: “We are facing a process of austerity in the management of public accounts never before seen in our province. We take care of every peso that enters the State.

In that sense, he listed actions such as “the reduction of the political staff, the redirection of official cars to the Entre Ríos Police, savings in the Retirement Fund and the drastic reduction of assignments and transfers to permanent staff,” as reported by the government in a statement. “We are reversing the apathy that we found to clean up the provincial public accounts as a starting point to begin to implement the transformations that we need to generate development,” said Frigerio.

“We spent months managing the disorder we found in public works, with almost 30 billion pesos of debt. We managed, with a lot of work and a great effort from our team, to agree with each of the State contractor companies on a payment plan with which we can comply. In this way, we were able to begin to resume, as you have already seen, some key works that our province needs in terms of infrastructure to respond to the people,” highlighted the governor.

He added, to these examples, the “historic” lawsuits that the provincial government brought before the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation for the pension funds owed to Entre Ríos and the payments of royalties and surpluses from the Salto Grande hydroelectric dam. .

In addition, he highlighted the work carried out in terms of modernization and transparency, such as the sending of the draft laws on Access to Public Information, the Legal Regime of Transparency and Ethics of the Public Service and the Transition of Government, “so that the government that happens to us does not have to go through the same problems that we had to go through.
