CIENFUEGOS.- This Thursday afternoon the beginning of the country’s government visit to the province of Cienfuegos took place. Centers of maximum economic and social interest were visited by working groups led by the vice prime ministers Inés María Chapman Waugh, Jorge Luis Perdomo Di-Lella and Jorge Luis Tapia Fonseca.
Accompanied by the president of the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources, engineer Antonio Rodríguez Rodríguez, and by the member of the Provincial Bureau of the Party Lázara Suárez Argudín, Deputy Prime Minister Chapman Waugh confirmed the progress of the execution of the supply system that will benefit the popular council from Rancho Luna, located in the municipality of Cienfuegos.
More than 4,000 inhabitants of this coastal region, which includes the town of La Milpa, will benefit from this important work, which has been in high demand by the local population for nearly four decades.
As was learned during the visit, the commitment of Hydraulic Resources and the Provincial Aqueduct and Sewer Company was to inaugurate the system in the final days of the current month, however, the absence of two electrical energy transformers and other details led to the displacement that moment for July 26.
The deputy prime minister said in this regard that the important thing is not to give a date that can be missed, but to do the job well so that it lasts over time.
Meanwhile, Perdomo di Lella began his journey at the Cycling Technical Center, accompanied by the president of Inder, Osvaldo Vento Montiller. At this site, he appreciated the remodeling of the premises, with facilities for accommodation and preparation of the athletes.
Together with the Minister of Health, José Ángel Portal Miranda, he later went to the Dr. Gustavo Aldereguía Lima Provincial Hospital, where he toured areas of the facility’s remodeled guard room, a place that has become the pride of the main healthcare facility in the hospital. territory.
During the stay at the Hospital, it was learned that as part of the commemorations for its 45th anniversary, which continue until March 23, 2025, the center undertakes an ambitious repair and maintenance program that seeks to significantly transform the institution’s facilities. .
The construction program also includes the modernization of the Emergency X-ray service, now more welcoming and with a greater capacity for stretchers. It is expected that in the final semester of 2024, the second stage of the works in the Guard Corps will begin, which has among its objectives the capital repair of the Code Red and the Emergency Surgical Unit.
So far, the Cuban State has invested 44 million pesos in the general restoration of the Hospital, with the aim of achieving technological and architectural conditions capable of offering optimal service.
Perdomo di Lella also appreciated the operation of the Surgical ICU Room and received information about the impact of the Assisted Reproduction Couple Care Center.
As part of his agenda, Tapia Fonseca exchanged with directors of a mixed company located in the Industrial Zone of Cienfuegos, a strategic belt that carries several responsibilities at the national level, several of these linked to the production of human and animal food, as well as to the unloading of basic basket supplies from several provinces in its port.
The highest political and government authorities of the territory were present along with the visitors. The second day of the visit will take place throughout this Friday.
