MinTrabajo unions will throw a pot-bang in front of the Casa de Nariño due to strike

He Strike Committee of the Ministry of Labor will hold a cacerolazo in front of the Casa de Nariño to draw the attention of the Presidency of the Republic to the protest of the entity’s officials.

He cacerolazo will be this Tuesday, June 25, at 9:00 am, in front of the Presidency of the Republic. What’s more, the union also called for the same demonstration to be held in the rest of the territorial directorates that the portfolio has in the regions.

“As workers of this country we must be heard with solutions from the national government to our requests.”since they must be resolved and resolved immediately,” the officials detailed in a statement.

This initiative was joined by the General Confederation of Labor (CGT), one of the main union associations in the country, which will also go to the Casa de Nariño to carry out the cacerolazo.

Although in the CGT there is a division between a side that supports the Government of Gustavo Petro and another that has demonstrated against the president, this part of the union announced that they will join the call to support the 14 unions of the Ministry of Labor that are on strike.

“From the General Confederation of Labor (CGT-ADS), we want to express our deepest solidarity with the colleagues of the Ministry of Labor who are currently on strike, fighting for their rights and well-being. In this context, We call on all our affiliates, sister organizations and citizens to gather next Tuesday, June 25, in the main squares of each city in support of our colleagues.”said the CGT in a statement.

The Confederation assured that this demonstration defends autonomous unionism and that they qualify as “majority” in the midst of the internal fissure of the unions in which there have been dissident voices that question the union support for the Government in power from some unions. That side has even gone out to march at opposition rallies.

“It is vital that the national government listen to the call of our colleagues in the Ministry of Labor and seek a negotiated solution to the conflict. In addition, We request that the Minister of Labor. Gloria Inés Ramírez Ríos, sits down to talk with her own workers within the framework of social dialogue and compliance with agreements and addresses their legitimate and legal claims,” the CGT detailed in a statement.
