Within the framework of Addiction Prevention Week, this Monday the third edition of the #CórdobaPreviene Expo takes place.

The appointment is on the esplanade of Plaza San Martín from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. More than 50 institutions with specific work on addictions participate in the event with the support of the Undersecretariat of Mental Health and Addictions, the Ministry of Health and the Municipal Council of Comprehensive Policies for the Prevention of Problematic Drug Use (COPIPRED).

Health institutions, therapeutic communities, social organizations and movements, foundations, universities, churches, the provincial secretariat for Prevention and Assistance of Addictions, SEDRONAR, among others, will participate.

There will be information stands, live music, theater, workshops, a fair for productive units, vaccination, testing for infections and much more.

Addiction Prevention Week starts on the esplanade of Plaza San Martín.

At the vaccination post, children and adults will be able to complete the vaccination schedule, receive the flu vaccine and/or Covid-19 booster.

More activities

The expo is held within the framework of the International Day to Fight Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, which is celebrated on June 26 of each year and proposes to raise awareness, design and implement prevention actions on problematic consumption in order to to make visible the different prevention, care and assistance alternatives that exist in the city of Córdoba, as well as artistic expressions linked to those spaces.

The proposal will extend until Sunday the 30th, offering different activities throughout the week at different points and spaces. We will work on the problem of consumption, publicizing the different spaces for community care and support that the city offers.

On Tuesday the 25th, starting at 7:30 p.m., a talk with the UNC Public Policy Incubator will be held via zoom, with the Undersecretary of Mental Health and Addictions, Lucas Torrice, as a guest, who will speak during the activity.

In turn, on Thursday the 27th, starting at 6 p.m., the talk/workshop “Young People Prevent” will be held together with the Youth Directorate of the Secretariat of Citizen Participation and Youth.

It will be open to the public, especially young people, with free admission in the Avalos Hall of the Municipality of Córdoba.

For its part, on Friday the 28th at 9 a.m. the University diploma course “Strategies and tools for a comprehensive approach to mental health and problematic consumption” will be held in the UNC Reformists’ Pavilion.

Finally, on Sunday the 30th and to close the Addiction Prevention Week, the Community Festival “Nice things happen in the neighborhood” will be held, organized together with the Crucifixion of the Lord parish, ATAJO, the Ministry of Culture, and the Father Oberlin’s Moving Mountains Foundation.

The proposal will be from 12:30 p.m. at Berutti 3700 in the Muller neighborhood. At the venue, attendees will be able to enjoy delicious food, information stands, among other activities.
