A resolution of the CRA Drinking Water Regulatory Commission that sought to apply severe controls to the excessive use of water in the municipality of Garzón will no longer be applied and therefore users will not be affected.
This was indicated after a technical meeting between officials of the Regional Autonomous Corporation of Alto Magdalena CAM, the Provincial Attorney’s Office of Huila and the Garzón Public Services Company EMPUGAR ESP
In the technical meeting, the scope of the applicability of Resolution CRA 39, which promotes discouraging excessive consumption of drinking water, was evaluated.
Despite the existence of the norm, the entities evaluated the reports of the flow of the Garzón stream, finding that they maintain a sufficient level of supply and that neither rationing nor the imposition of sanctions for high consumption will be applied.
Although the measure, for now, will exempt users from limiting the supply of liquid, the company in charge of supplying drinking water to the community of Garzón was invited to make rational use of the resource in the different activities.
