On Wednesday, August 7, the thirty-fourth edition of the Workers’ Fogón will take place, in honor of San Cayetano. The start is scheduled for 8 p.m. and will last until 3 a.m. On Sunday the 11th there will be a procession. The traditional folkloric gathering will take place at the Eduardo Falú amphitheater, in Plaza España – a property close to the sanctuary of San Cayetano.
As usual, it will be under the responsibility of Pascar, the main organizer that has made this musical event so prestigious. His faith and devotion led him to start this proposal, and what began as a guitar party among friends, became a long-awaited date in the national popular songbook, where more than 20 thousand people attend each year. The great references of folklore have already set foot on this stage. Surely this year will be no exception and the billboard will reflect the most exponent figures of this genre.
Once again, the drivers of the festival will be: Carmen Lía (godmother of Fogón) and the outstanding Oscar Humacata.
Prominent groups and soloists will join this festival in which folkloric artists pay tribute to their devotion to the saint of bread and work. This year, the bonfire will return with all its load of faith and devotion to San Cayetano, hand in hand with song and music.
Surely there will be no shortage of surprises since celebrities always show their supportive hearts. Los Nocheros are the godfathers of this great event in which artists of the stature of Tomás Lipán, Valeria Lynch, Peteco Carabajal, Los Tekis, Los Tucu Tucu, Luciano Pereyra, Pitín Zalazar, Los Manseros Santiagueños, Los Changos, Roxana Carabajal, paraded. Los Carabajal, Canto 4, Los 3 del Río and the “Chaqueño” Palavecino, among others.
“The festival also became great thanks to the selfless contribution of workers, professionals and some companies in the area. We also have the help of the Municipality of Salta, which kindly gave us the property. It is a great advantage to be able to use the amphitheater, it allows that the public will have greater comfort. In any case, chairs will be installed for the guests and a tent will be set up for the artists and the press,” said Pascar.
“This edition we will have a super luxury billboard, but we cannot yet announce names. We can say that the date was already set for Wednesday, August 7, starting at 8 p.m.,” said Pascar.
“Expenses are always increasing. But as happens every year, the solidarity hearts of hard-working people make it possible for us to face this challenge,” he added.
Preparing this artistic meeting requires an enormous personal and economic effort, which is why Pascar knocks on the door of all hearts of solidarity, from the most distinguished artists to the anonymous neighbor who participates in the movement, whether with financial contributions, or with work, transportation, advice, logistics. “We’ve already started and put it in first gear,” were the words of Pascar, the man who always took on his shoulders the responsibility of carrying out this musical call.
“The solidarity heart of the sponsors is always present, despite the country’s crisis, there are many organizational expenses. Air tickets, hotels, and other expenses add up in each edition, but together we manage to carry out this event party,” Pascar highlighted.
“It would be totally ungrateful not to thank so many people, such as the Provincial Police, Traffic Agents, Firefighters, Rescue Brigades, Samec personnel, technical and stage colleagues, and logically all the stokers who are, who through their contribution , which allow all expenses to be covered. A separate paragraph for the selfless artists who are the heart and soul of this popular festival,” said the main organizer.
