The Ministry of Social Inclusion, Youth, Families and Equality will allocate more than 887,000 euros in equipment and improvement works in three active participation centers (CPA) for older people in the province of Córdoba (Córdoba II, Palma del Río and Pozoblanco). It is about adapting these centers so that they offer a person-centered care model. In total, the investment, financed from Next Generation funds, reaches 7.6 million euros for 31 CPAs throughout Andalusia.

Active participation centers represent a fundamental resource, with multiple benefits for the health and well-being of older people, especially in order to prevent dependency. Likewise, they represent a space for meeting, for personal relationships that can alleviate situations of unwanted loneliness.

Therefore, this investment aims to adapt the CPAs to the care model focused on the needs and demands of users, also making them safe, accessible and comfortable spaces.

Thus, the improvement works will be carried out in the Córdoba II and Palma del Río centers, while the equipment, in addition to these two, will also be available in the Pozoblanco CPA. This commitment by the Andalusian Executive is part of the long-term Support and Care Plan, designed under the Next Generation funds.

Specifically, 415,000 euros will be allocated to works, while the remaining more than 471,000 are collected for new equipment in the three active participation centers mentioned.

The improvement and conditioning works aim to provide comfort to the CPAs and also to progressively ensure that all these centers in the public network of Andalusia have a homogeneous image that provides well-being to users and eliminates visual noise.

The objective is to humanize these centers, so that they adapt to the needs and demands of their users with comfortable, welcoming and efficient equipment given that “they are like their own home”, as highlighted by the territorial delegate of Social Inclusion, Dolores Sánchez.

All of these improvement actions are part of the CPA’s people-centered care model, which seeks to promote quality of life thanks to initiatives that result in their physical, psychological and emotional state.

“Fighting unwanted loneliness and promoting active aging is a fundamental pillar of our counseling,” continued Sánchez, who wants CPAs to be “places full of life, meeting points where we can exchange experiences, wisdom and where we can enjoy the company.” so that older people can develop fully.

On the other hand, regarding the equipment, it is mainly based on furniture, decoration, supplies and installation of kitchen, podiatry, hairdressing, as well as audiovisual devices.
