On the morning of this Tuesday, June 25, unions of the Ministry of Labor, regional Santa Marta, held a pot-banging protest against the non-compliance that Minister Gloria Inés Ramírez has had with the labor agreements agreed upon in the collective agreement.

In the document, the Ministry of Labor committed to include the bonus for all public servants, which had to be paid in the third month of the year, in addition to the additional payment for municipal inspections, salary leveling and the delivery of school kits.

Adrián Arguellas, national vice president of the National Union of Social Protection Workers and Employees, Sinaltraempros, in conversation with OPINIÓN CARIE, explained that this activity seeks to demand compliance with the 2023-2025 union agreement.

“We are asking the public ministry, especially the Attorney General’s Office, to be present in this conflict and to mediate in this situation so that we achieve compliance with these agreements, there are 115 articles that are unfulfilled,” he said.

Furthermore, they ask that the Minister of Labor sit down to talk with the workers within the framework of social dialogue and compliance with the agreements and address their legitimate and legal claims.

With this, the unionists wait for an agreement to be reached that improves working conditions for Ministry of Labor officials, arguing that their situation is unequal compared to other entities and organizations in the public sector.

Their demands include a bonus of 50% of their salaries, the implementation of teleworking measures, the expansion of benefits for officials with school-age children enrolled in schools, among others.
