From Valle del Cauca they request an audience with President Petro to solve the security crisis

After the wave of violence in Valle del Cauca and the death of Rafael, the victim of the last bomb attack in Jamundí; Several sectors of Valle del Cauca met to draft a letter addressed to President Gustavo Petro and the Minister of Defense, Iván Velásquez, requesting a hearing in the department to stop the actions of the FARC dissidents.

“Valle del Cauca is going through a difficult moment that affects us all; various groups outside the law, from different fronts and actions, have launched a criminal attack against the southwestern region of Colombia, which must be treated as a national security problem with a tendency to escalate to other regions of the country and not as isolated events that only affect the Valle del Cauca business fabric, leave people injured and dead, stigmatize different territories and, worst of all, cause fear among citizens who live in permanent anxiety,” the letter states.

Within the framework of this request, The governor of Valle, Dilian Francisca Toro, reiterated her call for the public order situation to be analyzed throughout the Pacific: “It is not only the Cauca Valley, the Valley depends on Cauca, Cauca de Nariño and Chocó also due to geographical proximity,” said the president.

The request states that although the Ministry of Defense has responded to the calls after the attacks and bombings of recent days, they assure that only by experiencing the situation firsthand will a resounding result be achieved. insisting on “the strengthening of the Police, Army and other security organizations with logistics, intelligence, more manpower, flight hours and the taking of forceful actions against illicit economies and criminal infrastructure detected especially in the rural area of Jamundí.”
