Travel agencies in the capital of Potosí are now “Violet Dots”that is to say, safe spaces where women can find refuge and support in situations of danger or harassment.
Thanks to the intervention of the Tourism Department of the capital City Councilstaff from travel agencies established in the capital of Potosí received prior training to form brigades to provide safe spaces and services for everyone.
Among these agencies, AloBa Viajes, Viajes D Mario, Naturleon were mentioned, and it was confirmed that in the coming days there will be at least half a dozen more of these types of service establishments, all adhering to the Mexican Association of Travel Agencies (AMAV) will be joining this program.
It is worth mentioning that personnel from the Municipal Tourism Directorate also participate in this training; Prior to that, there were meetings to start the training and network project. “My Violet Brigade”.
The “Violet Points” are safe spaces for women where women can find refuge and support in situations of danger or harassment; they can be identified with stickers containing emergency numbers and care routes in case of violence against women.

Added to the program is a company of personnel transport unitsas well as merchants and service providers established in the Historic Center, who turned their establishments into “support points” for women who feel harassed or in danger.
The establishments also have the badge on their exterior to distinguish them as allied businesses, whose staff also receives training to correctly apply the aid protocols.
Within the framework of the program, tours are also carried out in the Historic Center to detect risk areas for women, not only those who go for a walk or shopping, but also for employees of shops or markets.
At the same time, the capital City Council maintains the “Violet Brigades” in the same framework in colonies of the capital to detect points that do not guarantee safety and limit the development of womenand they have also received training on violence against women and routes of action, in addition to strengthening their leadership and community participation.
