Professor would have abused several students in Cundinamarca: he was sent to jail

José Alirio Useche Vanegas, an English teacher, was sent to jail by a guarantee control judge, after being accused of sexually abusing several of his students in different schools in the department of Cundinamarca.

Investigations carried out by the Attorney General’s Office revealed that at least eight minors were victims of the teacher during his 13 years of professional practice in different schools. According to the evidence collected, Useche Vanegas would have taken advantage of his position of authority to make sexual advances, send explicit videos and subject the students to acts that threatened their freedom.

Some victims have stated that the accused posed as a member of an illegal armed group to intimidate them and avoid being reported. The capture of Useche Vanegas was carried out by officials of the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI) in Zipaquirá, Cundinamarca.

Subsequently, a prosecutor from the Funza Sexual Crimes Unit charged him with the crimes of sexual acts with a minor under 14 years of age, de facto insults and sexual harassment. However, Useche Vanegas did not accept the charges against him.
