The Teatromuseo puppet and clown foundation this Thursday celebrates its 17th anniversary together with the community of Valparaíso to continue delivering the art of clowning, puppets and, above all, the magic of the show.

This June 27, Teatromuseo del títere y el payaso will celebrate its anniversary in a big way by holding a parade from Plaza Victoria at 3:00 p.m., where all Buenos Aires families will be able to enjoy and learn about this magical world.

Teatromuseo has 17 years of experience in the world of Commedie Dell’Arte in the port city. Who have held 18 international meetings, 17 children’s theater festivals, around 8,000 performances and shown their interactive museum to at least 10,000 students.

In the beginning, as its director Victor Quiroga tells us, they were just a theater company called “El Faro”, formed by his daughters and Paulina Beltrán, currently in charge of the foundation’s projects and puppeteer. After 17 years, the foundation has 11 people working together, in its training school it has 12 teachers and every week they work with various companies in its large performance hall (Cumming 795) to delight Buenos Aires families with puppets and clowns .

Because it is their anniversary, from July 1 to 7, performances by various companies will be held to celebrate together with Buenos Aires families.

The foundation initially wanted to be a space to spread the red nose and puppet theater, but now it seeks to be a more permanent research center in the area of pedagogy to show the art of animated theater and comedy. Teatromuseo through its training schools for adults and children provide the bases from a formal perspective, but at the same time not forgetting laughter and comedy.

Over the years, the foundation has seen the birth of new clowns, puppeteers and even theatre companies in its facilities. But that is not all, it has also collaborated with the community of Valparaíso as well as with other groups. “We are not competition, but collaboration” explains its director, who tells us that they have collaborated with the Parque Cultural Ex Cárcel, the library “El libro Alegre”, theatre companies and institutions.

Its director tells us that every year they try to increase their shows and their training schools at Commedie Dell’Arte. “We started with many dreams and now we have more dreams about how we start,” says Víctor Quiroga, who invites us to discover this world of laughter and joy at Teatromuseo.
