Havana, June 26 (RHC) President Miguel Diaz-Canel returns to the westernmost territory of Cuba, this time to the Pinar del Río municipality of La Palma, to continue the visits he has made throughout the country and to exchange views with work groups, productive bases and the people.

This is the sixth visit that the president has made to Pinar del Río since January of the current year, previously he was in San Luis, Consolación del Sur, Minas de Matahambre, Sandino and Viñales, in that order. The La Palma municipality has more than 40 thousand inhabitants

Searching for alternatives that lead to improving the quality of life of the people and together contributing to the development of the municipality and the country, is the firm objective of the visit.

The President arrived at the Fruit Farm belonging to the La Palma Tobacco Processing and Collection Company.

When investigating the strategy that managers and workers use today, the President insisted on the need to promote the diversification of productions.

The site now occupied by the Marbajita agricultural farm was an old UBPC, which became a development area in which the planting of cassava, banana and sweet potato predominates, planted in red ferralitic soils, attended by seven workers.

After the effects of Hurricane Ian, the “La Ceja” community with about a thousand inhabitants experiences important transformations. There the primary school, the warehouse, a social circle are recovered and a SAF premises for seniors is redesigned.

You have a beautiful and orderly community, said the president in dialogue with the residents.

At the same time, he appreciated what he saw during his tour of this territory: if some can handle the same intensified blockade, that shows that with work, a lot of work, we have to face the current situation.
