In sectors such as Parque Isla Salamanca, and the Ciénaga Grande de Santa Marta, the community has reported forest fires which have affected the environment; in view of this situation, the Magdalena Regional Autonomous Corporation CORPAMAG and the Sitionuevo Fire Department signed a contract whose purpose is to generate joint strategies to avoid and control them in a timely manner.
This alliance contemplates the development of training and acquisition of specialized equipment for the attention of forest fires, thus protecting the natural areas of the municipality.
The contract also includes the completion of municipal management indicators and regional (IF Indicators), which will allow the evaluation and analysis of the impact of the implemented actions.
