He pointed out that “it was a process that was not easy, because the Qhapaq Ñan today is the most complex site on the World Heritage list, which is why the inscription was not easy ten years ago and until the last moment there were issues to be resolved” and He clarified that “it is a site that has many material and archaeological components, many immaterial components that perhaps we can capture in the concept of the Andean worldview, in addition to more than 300 associated Andean communities.”

The national official stressed that “In our countries this declaration was particularly important because it is an Archaeological and indigenous heritage and we know that declarations of that category of Heritage are less frequent.”

He said that “we are standing solidly for 10 years and we have to celebrate this because we have managed to build a management structure that allows us to work together between the State and the communities with participatory but also federal planning processes, the Qhapaq Ñan is a permanent exercise in federalism.”

For his part, the Provincial Director of Heritage, Sebastián Pasin, expressed the coordinated work and permanent dialogue that is carried out between all the actors and pointed out that “this year the Province of Jujuy had to assume the role of Pro Tempore Secretary of the Federal Management Unit of Qhapaq Ñan within international management, this also stands out because it shows how all the provinces work together, and reinforces this sense.”

Finally, a video related to the 1st stage of registration, maintenance and conservation work on the Qhapaq Ñan segment between the towns of Santa Ana and Valle Colorado was shown.

It is worth mentioning that representatives from the different provinces that make up the system throughout Argentina were present as authorities and representatives of the communities of Santa Ana and Valle Colorados, among others.
