Representatives of the seven provinces of northern Argentina (Catamarca, Chaco, Corrientes, Formosa, Jujuy, Misiones and Salta) meet in Salta, within the framework of the training in Environmental Managers provided by the Development School of the Federal Investment Council (CFI). ). The Secretary of Environment and Sustainable Development, Alejandro Aldazabal, He opened the meeting and stressed his joy that Salta had been chosen for the meeting of participants from the northern provinces of the country.

In addition, he emphasized the importance for the Secretariat in charge of working together with the CFI and promoting training that raises awareness among public officials who make decisions: “The most important thing is to be aware that there is a variation, which is probably a form of the environment. to adapt to the greatest requirements of the population at a global level,” he highlighted.

He also highlighted that once authorities, opinion makers and the entire society are sensitized, we must move forward in achieving a different interaction with the environment, “whether in the way we manage our waste, the use of energy, productive activities.”

“The effects of Climate Change are being perceived gradually, but in the long term if we do not become aware, the environment will regulate the population through lack of resources, etc. It is biology, there must be a profound change,” said the official.

The event also included a presentation by specialists from the Secretariat of Environment and Sustainable Development, who presented experiences and strategies for biodiversity conservation in Salta.

The training coordinator, Florencia Mitchell explained that it has been carried out virtually since April. Culminating in November, but which includes three in-person events in the northern, central and southern regions of the country. And Salta, due to its beauty and biodiversity, was chosen to be the northern location.

This initiative of the Federal Investment Council is aimed at provincial authorities that work in the implementation of environmental policies or related areas such as planning, public works, energy and production, who are interested in incorporating the environmental dimension into their portfolios.

The activity will continue tomorrow, Friday, June 28, with technical visits in the territory, exhibitions and workshops by CFI technicians.
