Deadpool & Wolverine and the cameo they can canonize

Deadpool & Wolverine has a chance to reveal the MCU origin of a supporting character who made a sneaky cameo in Wade Wilson’s first film

Deadpool’s First MCU Crossover Character Can Now Confirm His True Origin In Deadpool & Wolverine. Ryan Reynolds’ cinematic journey as Deadpool began in a very different place, with his debut in X-Men Origins: Wolverine omitting most of the qualities that make Wade Wilson a unique and memorable character. Deadpool corrected those problems a few years later, and in the post-credits scene of Deadpool 2Wade Wilson was already playing with time travel. Fifteen years after his live action debut, Deadpool & Wolverine by Shawn Levy sends Deadpool on an epic adventure involving Wolverine, the Time Variance Authority, and the MCU multiverse.

Deadpool & Wolverine It may not be the end of the journey for Ryan Reynolds’ Wade Wilson, but it does cap a long wait for him and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. Not only will the main characters of Deadpool and Wolverine wear their classic costumes as they fight side by side, but they will also interact with an expansive multiverse filled with characters from the X-Men franchise and the MCU. This historical crossover could include cameos from characters from the X-Men and Avengers, but also from minor characters that most viewers wouldn’t expect.

Hydra Bob

Deadpool & Wolverine they can finally confirm Hydra Bob

In Deadpool In 2016, Wade Wilson seeks out Francis to take revenge for his cruel experiments. To get to the villain, Deadpool cuts through a horde of the villain’s henchmen. At one point, Deadpool “teabags” and prepares to decapitate one of the henchmen, but stops when he realizes the man is his old friend Bob. Bob is clearly Deadpool’s loyal friend in the comics, Bob Dobalina, also known as Hydra Bob. However, the studio was unable to use Hydra Bob’s full identity, as the live-action adaptation rights to Hydra and all of its explicitly related characters belong to Marvel Studios.

Deadpool and Wolverine got to see Wade Wilson accidentally encounter an MCU version of Bob who was actually working for Hydra. Now that Marvel Studios can use any mutant-related character thanks to Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox, Hydra Bob can make another cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine and reveal his true backstory. The most practical way to give Hydra Bob his proper Hydra origin is by introducing a new variant across the multiverse. Similar to Deadpool’s final battle sequence, Deadpool and Wolverine got to see Wade Wilson accidentally encounter an MCU version of Bob who was actually working for Hydra, possibly during an action scene in the Void.

Deadpool

Deadpool and Wolverine live up to several franchise jokes

While the first two Deadpool movies worked as standalone installments, they hid some references to the X-Men movies and the MCU that can only be exploited now that Deadpool is exploring the MCU multiverse. Bob almost joins the MCU’s Hydra, and the unnamed plane in the Deadpool finale almost joins the remaining SHIELD helicopters. On the other hand, Deadpool’s nods to the real Hugh Jackman are finally receiving their due reward with Jackman’s return to Wolverine. Likewise, Deadpool’s failed attempts to contact the X-Men could be revisited with the possible barrage of mutant cameos from Deadpool and Wolverine.
