Anticipation for the next installment of the Avengers continues to rise. In a recent interview with ‘Still Watching Netflix’, actor Benedict Cumberbatch revealed important details about the production of ‘Avengers 5’.

What do we know about the production of ‘Avengers 5’?
The production of ‘Avengers 5’ has been a topic of great speculation and mystery. Originally known as ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty’, the film has gone through several significant changes.
Marvel Studios has faced numerous challenges, including the replacement of actor Jonathan Majors, who originally played Kang the Conqueror, due to legal issues and his eventual firing in December 2023. This change has led to the film being temporarily renamed ‘Avengers’. 5′.
Furthermore, the direction of the film has been a matter of uncertainty. In his interview with ‘Still Watching Netflix’, Benedict Cumberbatch confirmed that he will return as Doctor Strange in ‘Avengers 5’. This news was expected by many, given the end of ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’, where a future return of the character is hinted at. Doctor Strange’s latest appearance left fans with many questions and expectations about his next move in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
What happened in the last Doctor Strange movie?
“Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” follows the sorcerer as he protects América Chávez, a young woman with the power to travel between universes, from the Scarlet Witch. Wanda Maximoff seeks to use Chavez’s powers to reunite with her imaginary children.
Strange and Chavez navigate several universes, facing dangers and unexpected allies. Eventually, Wanda redeems herself, destroying the Darkhold and sacrificing herself. Strange returns to his universe, and Chavez begins training him at Kamar-Taj.
Disney has not issued any statement to date about the future of Dr Strange in the MCU.
When is ‘Avengers 5’ released?
The release of ‘Avengers 5’ is scheduled for May 1, 2026. Initially, Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, had announced at the 2022 San Diego Comic-Con that the film would be released in 2025, with ‘Avengers : Secret Wars’ following in 2026. However, the release date for ‘Secret Wars’ has been moved to May 7, 2027, providing more time for the development of ‘Avengers 5’.
