That all that glitters is not gold is not just a saying that has a lot of truth when we talk about success, money and fame. Because normally these 3 things so desired by millions of people around the world do not bring happiness but quite the opposite. And if not, ask Billie Eilish.

The American soloist participated in Miss me?, a podcast of the BBCin which she was interviewed on the occasion of the launch of her most recent album project: Hit me hard and soft. And speaking of various personal aspects, she made it very clear that she had a very bad time in several situations.

One of them when a person with whom he had made an appointment to go out asked him ghosting: “I was like… Did you die? Did you literally die? It was someone I had also known for years and I had a plan, on the day of the appointment, on the phone this is my address, be there at 3. I never heard from him again. But one day I could see that he was dating someone else. And it was like ‘ohhhh.’ But I didn’t know people still did that.”

An episode that many may not relate to fame but that in Billie Eilish was linked to her perception that her life had changed forever with her musical triumph when she was still a minor.

“Suddenly, I was famous and I couldn’t relate to anyone. I lost all my friends when I became famous, literally everyone except one, my best friend Zoe, who I’ve been friends with since I was two years old. It was hard. It was very hard. I clearly remember it was my 20th birthday and I remember looking around the room and there were only people I employ. And all 15 years or more older than me. It was the worst thing that has ever happened to me. And that made me realize that ‘oh wait, this is a job.’ “If they left me they would never see me again,” explained the American singer.

“I have worked a lot on friendship, on making friends and on reestablishing old friendships. Fortunately, the interpreter was able to redirect the situation as she explained on her networks: “Exactly one year ago, I reconnected with a lot of old friends and now I have many friends. Now I have a team! I could literally start crying. It was like the best thing that ever happened to me. I was like, ‘Guys, I have friends and I just love them so much, and it’s been so long since I’ve had friends,’ and I cried… and it’s literally because I was like I really have the friendship now again.”
