The Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (Citma) in Granma, invites national natural or legal personalities who have businesses registered in Cuba or abroad to opt for the Provincial Recognition of Industrial Property 2024.

Participants can compete in three categories: Inventions, models and industrial drawings; distinctive signs that include brands, trade names, business emblems, commercial slogans, and establishment signs) and in the category of children’s and youth creativity.

For participation, it is an essential requirement that the records of inventions, models and industrial drawings are current.

Yaknnis Rodríguez Rosabal, head of the science, technology and innovation department in the territorial delegation of Citma, expands on the particularities of this call.

“Those interested in participating in these categories must present the strategy followed by protection and commercialization; the countries in which the object of invention, model or industrial drawing has been introduced into commerce; its connection with other forms of industrial property; granting of licenses to third parties and economic benefits obtained in figures.

In the two years that we have been launching this call, recognition was granted in 2022 to the Vallerojo business emblem and in 2023 to a series of brands from the Granmax export group; never to the category of children’s and youth creativity, something that is expected to be attempted this year with Medical Science, the University of Granma and Education.

The provincial recognition of industrial property 2024 will be granted during an exhibition fair Granma advances with creativity and innovation, which will take place on July 17 at Expogranma.
