Strengthen exportable capacities for development

Havana, June 15 (ACN) Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, insisted today on enhancing the exportable capacities of products of commercial interest in order to promote economic development from the country.

During a tour of the soap plant, located at the National Center for Scientific Research (CNIC), he emphasized the search for alternatives to increase the production of essential oil soaps, and the integration of the Group’s own sectors. of the Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Industry, (BioCubaFarma), for the proper promotion and commercial advertising of the services and products produced at the CNIC.

Talene Ledón Pérez, deputy director of the CNIC, explained the financial strategies adopted for the acquisition of foreign currency, which has an impact on the purchase of less expensive raw materials and a fast and quality delivery.

The board commented on the implementation of the soft capsules project, collaboration with a company from the People’s Republic of China, from which results are expected by the end of this year.

During his visit, the Cuban President recognized the support in the direct distribution of soaps to the country’s hospital centers together with entities in charge of caring for the vulnerable during the Covid 19 pandemic.

Diaz-Canel highlighted the broad portfolio of clients located in the Mariel Special Development Zone, a space where there is provision for collaborations.

Sandra Miliam Lamás, head of the soap production plant, explained the process and the industrial advantages for health and commerce.

This plant was inaugurated in 2019 on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of Havana, with the objective of combining the results of science and economics, as a source of income that the company needs.

Regarding the Sunflower oil soap that is produced, he explained that it has dermatological, antimicrobial, and antibacterial properties with a grammage of 30, 100 and 120 distributed gradually through the pharmacy network of the capital, and in the center’s own pharmacy, available at sale to the public.

Accompanying Díaz-Canel during the visit were Roberto Morales Ojeda, Secretary of Organization of the CCPCC, Liván Izquierdo Alonso, First Secretary of the Party in Havana and Yanet Hernández Pérez, Governor of the capital, among other leaders.
