The American actor Bill Cobbs died On Tuesday night, at 90 years old. With an enormous career, she was in films like ”The big jump”, ”Sunshine State” , ”A night at the museum” and ”Air Bud”.
His death occurred at his home in Riverside, according to his publicist, and he also detailed that it was the product of natural causes.
His great career in acting
His acting career saw him go through the cinema, television and theater. A native of Cleveland, he had both dramatic and comedic roles. For example, he played Whitney Houston’s manager in 1992 in ”The bodyguard”to Medgar Evers’ older brother in ”Ghosts of Mississippi” by Rob Reiner, to a jazz pianist in ”That Thing” by Tom Hanks; and Master Tinker, in ”Oz the powerful”from director Sam Raimi, in 2013.

Another of his notable roles was that of a coach, in the film ”Air Bud” (1997)where he put a basketball-playing dog in the Timberwolves’ starting lineup.
Furthermore, in ”The Great Leap” (1994)by the Coen brothers, Cobbs played Moses, the mystical clock man with the ability to stop time, and in ‘‘Sunshine State’ (2002)by John Sayles, where he stars as a doctor who strives to save his coastal Florida neighborhood from developers.
One of his most notable and recent roles was the Shawn Levy film, starring Ben Stiller, ”A night at the museum”, from 2006, where he was part of a security team at the Museum of Natural History in New York, along with Dick Van Dyke and Mickey Rooney. The trio returned for the third and final installment of the saga, in 2014.
On television, Cobbs was notable as the bartender in ”The Slap Maxwell Story”starring Dabney Coleman, bus driver Tony in ”The Drew Carey Show”, the father of the main character in ”The Gregory Hines Show” and Dr. Emory Erickson, the inventor of the Transporter, in ”Star Trek: Enterprise”.
For her big screen debut, she appeared on a subway platform in ”The Taking of Pelham One Two Three” (1974). About that premiere, he had commented on a particular anecdote: ”I returned home to see my mother and father, and all our friends and neighbors went to see the movie, and they were all waiting for my appearance. I walk up to a cop on the subway and I say, ‘Hey man. What’s up?”
