LA ALTAGRACIA, September 9.- The National Emergency and Security Assistance System (9-1-1) confirmed that at least three people lost their lives and 11 were injured by the accident between two buses transporting hotel employees from this tourist pole this Saturday on the La Otra Banda highway, in Verón-Punta Cana.
«So far a total of 11 injured people have been reported, who were transferred to nearby hospitals; Unfortunately, three others lost their lives in the accident,” the entity details in a press release.
He said 9-1-1 received calls for help and mobilized several units, including 13 ambulances from the Directorate of Out-of-hospital Emergency Care Services (DAEH); two firefighters; four units of the National Police; three from the General Directorate of Traffic and Land Transportation Safety (DIGESETT).
Likewise, he said, he notified the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif).
According to unofficial versions, the victims are collaborators or employees of the Royalton Hotel, in the Bávaro area.
