The German goalkeeper Ter Stegen remembered his years in the shadow of Claudio Bravo at FC Barcelona and told how he beat him head-to-head for the starting position.

Marc-André Ter Stegenarcher of the FC Barcelonarecalled his first years in the Catalan store, a time where he lived with the Chilean Claudio Bravo.

Between the 2014 and 2016 seasons, the German was in the shadow of the two-time American champion with La Roja, in an intense fight for the position where the European played the cup games and was a substitute in La Liga.

Well now, in conversation with the exporter Andoni Zubizarretathe German national team recalled how they went head to head with Bravo.

“Betting on a young goalkeeper like me could go well or badly. Claudio had already played for Real, he knew La Liga and he showed it in the two years he was there,” commented Ter Stegen, in conversation for the official FC Barcelona website.

“He did spectacular. “I just had to work and complain… and that’s what I did.”the German also confided.

Later, the current Catalan goalkeeper recalled that “in the first two years, everything was more planned day to day to Claudio’s needs and I needed other things.”

“When it was my turn to play I had two or three days of more specific preparation for myself. I arrived without speaking the language of others, at first it costs you a world,” concluded the German goalkeeper.
