To talk about Jorge Luis Pinto is to know the long experience he has had within Colombian football and in the international arena, where the 71-year-old coach has achieved great achievements such as with Cúcuta Deportivo in national football, and arriving with a team like Costa Rica to hold the best World Cup in its entire history in 2014.

A great relevance that the native of San Gil has had, who in Colombian football has been in clubs such as Deportivo Cali, Millonarios, Santa Fe, Cúcuta Deportivo, Junior, Bucaramanga, among others, where he has been under the technical direction throughout 40 years old.

Now Pinto would be back in Colombian soccer, after his last experience was in 2023 when he was with Deportivo Cali, but now he will be present in the second division in one of the teams that participated in the last home runs.

According to several journalists, Jorge Luis Pinto reached an agreement with Unión Magdalena so that the Santander native becomes the new helmsman of the banana team for the second half of the BetPlay Tournament, where they will seek to be protagonists and seek promotion to the first division.

It is worth mentioning that this will be the third time that Pinto leads Unión Magdalena, after the coach was there from 1988 to 1989 and 1994 to 1996, recording good campaigns in the Santa Marta team.

In this way, Pinto will replace Álvaro Hernández and will sign in the coming days to be the new coach of the banana cyclone, which will seek to return to the first division after having been relegated to the second category in 2023.

Pinto is expected to sign and the official announcement of his arrival at Unión Magdalena will be made.
