However, this message takes users to a web page where they are informed about an alleged monetary prize that was obtained in a drawing of which they have no prior knowledge.

In order for the people who participated to claim this prize, they are asked to download an application from Google Play that appears to be a platform for trading or buying and selling of cryptocurrencies.

How the WhatsApp scam is executed

When the user clicks on the link in the message, the victim is directed to a web page, which at the time the scam was identified was inaccessible.

If the victim decides to continue, they are directed to a supposed verification that ultimately leads them to another page where they are informed about the monetary prize. and you are urged to download the fraudulent application.
