The iPhone 16 Pro, although similar in design to the iPhone 15 Pro, will feature the world’s thinnest display border, further reducing the black border around the screen. According to IceUniversescreen sizes will increase slightly, going from 6.1 to 6.3 inches for the iPhone 16 Pro and from 6.7 to 6.9 inches for the Pro Max.
BRS (Border Reduction Structure) technology will be key to achieving these ultra-thin bezels, bending wiring and circuitry down at the edges of the panel. Despite the challenges in manufacturing, this advancement is expected to offer a sleeker and more modern aesthetic, offsetting the increase in the overall size of the device.
The display’s Dynamic Island design will remain unchanged this year, and Face ID is rumored to be integrated below the display in future models, specifically with the iPhone 17 in 2025.
In addition to the reduction in bezels, the iPhone 16 Pro will include a number of improvements, such as the latest A18 processor, a new force-sensitive physical button for capturing photos and videos, and the introduction of 5x zoom on non-Max models by first time.
Apple plans to officially reveal the iPhone 16 lineup this fall, likely at a media event in September.
