Another feature will allow the user lock the device remotelyentering the phone number on a web page, without the need to enter personal passwords.

The third option is an automatic blocking of the device that is activated if situations occur such as SIM card removal wave prolonged loss of internet connection.

Google anti-theft measures: when will they be available?

The new functions of Google will be tested in Brazil in a pilot program that will start in july and in the coming months it will be offered to all users with cell phones with the Android 10 operating system or newer.

In the case of Brazilian users, these functionalities are added to an application launched by the Government last December, called Secure Cell Phonewhich also allows remote locking of a stolen or lost phone.

In the first six months of operation, nearly two million users have downloaded the application and They have registered nearly 50,000 alerts of robbery, theft or lossaccording to data from the Brazilian Ministry of Justice.
