Rels B releases their long-awaited album, A New Star (1993)

The expectation is over and Rels B’s most recent album is finally here, A New Star (1993). This new LP, which has been described as one of the most ambitious of his career, sees the Spanish musician exploring the more eclectic side of himself.

The album is made up of 13 tracks among which you can hear hip hop, lo-fi, dancehall, reggae, deep house and carioca funk rhythms, among others. “Album suitable only for good tastes. Please, the only thing I ask of you is that you listen to it in its entirety and in order, skipped songs are prohibited,” the musician warned on his social networks.

As usual, the Mallorcan left a fair space for his collaborations with Lia Kali in ‘La vida sin ti’, Junior H in ‘Un waste’ and Tempoe in ‘Pretty Girl’. Furthermore, towards the end of the album, he reviews his 10-year career in ‘The Last of the Contract’, a song in which he remembers his beginnings and remembers what success truly means to him.

“My heart goes into these little songs, I really have never felt so connected to music,” he wrote a few weeks ago in a publication where he is seen working from the recording studio.

Days before the launch, Rels B presented the album through its window in Mexico City. Moments before, the artist published the address and time at which he would play the LP, which caused hundreds of people to gather on a street in the Condesa neighborhood to listen to it. Just as he promised, at 5:30 pm he appeared on his balcony holding up a huge black speaker and the performance began.

A New Star (1993) It is now available on all streaming platforms.
