Amid death threats and hateful comments, Raven-Symoné is speaking out in defense of her wife, Miranda Pearman-Maday.
In a Thursday TikTok, the former Disney star didn’t mince words as she called out commenters for harassing the couple online. “I’m here with Miranda, my wife, to tell you to stop it in her comments. And stop with the death threats in her DMs,” said to stone-faced Symoné at the start of the video. “It is disrespectful to her, and in turn, disrespectful to me. Stop it.”
The video sees her side-by-side with Pearman-Maday, who has been fielding an influx of hateful comments since talking about the fact that she didn’t grow up watching Symoné in her hit Disney Channel series, That’s So Raven.
“I hope to clear the air right now and let you all know that I never have once said that I didn’t know who Raven was,” Pearman-Maday said in the video. “I only ever said that I didn’t grow up watching That’s So Raven.”

She continued, “I didn’t watch her as a child, but since getting married and meeting her in 2015, I have seen the majority of her work. I have also been at a lot of this work. So I mean, backstage at The View, 25 Words or Lessthe list goes on and on.”
Pearman-Maday, who married Symoné in 2020, went on to express her support for the Disney sitcom and her “endlessly talented” wife, but added, “She also isn’t just Raven-Symoné to me. You guys must try and open your minds a little bit and understand there is more behind people that are celebrities. There is real life here.”
She explained that the disconnect between celebrity and real-life is why the couple felt inclined to address the situation, which they dub “a big spiral of internet misinformation.” Symoné then jumped back in to close out the video by addressing verified users who joined the chorus of hate comments.
“For all of the blue checks out there acting like trolls… sit down,” Symoné said. “Thank you, no need.”
Although both women have previously discussed Pearson-Maday being unfamiliar with Symoné’s work prior to their relationship, the renewed backlash emerged after their April appearance on the Bottoms Up With Fannita podcast.
“The fact that I didn’t watch the show was something that Raven appreciated,” Pearson-Maday said during the episode, later adding, “The internet is mad at me for it.”
She explained that it wasn’t a conscious decision, she was just “a little too old” for the Disney series. That’s So Ravenired from 2003 to 2007, with Symoné starring as the titular character, a then-teenager with psychic abilities. The series has since earned a reboot, Raven’s Home, which began in 2017 and currently spans six seasons.
